Charlotte area at low risk for severe weather

(FOX 46 CHARLOTTE) – Thursday will be another warm day with highs topping out in the middle 80s. The cloud cover is expected to increase on Thursday out ahead of an approaching cold front.
Most of your Thursday should be dry, but as the front nears an isolated shower may pop up later in the day or at night.
Better chances for showers and thunderstorms push in on Friday as the storm system slides through the region. The rain doesn’t last long with most spots only picking up between a quarter to half of an inch of rain.
This weekend looks to be dry and sunny but temperatures won’t be as warm behind the cold front with highs in the upper 70s to near 80 degrees. Be sure to download the FOX 46 weather app now to stay ahead of the rain on Friday.
